Modern pediatric otology includes conservative and surgical treatment options for external, middle, internal ear and lateral skull diseases.
Otology and otosurgery are in close connection with neurology and neurosurgery and thus, our professionals from different fields cooperate with each other.
There are neurologic conditions (i.e. intracranial complications), both in pediatric and general otology, that are otogenic. Those are:

  1. Meningitis

  2. Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis

  3. Epidural, subdural, brain and cerebellar abscesses, 

  4. Otogenic hydrocephalus 

In pediatric neurology dizziness is common as well and the causes are:

  1. Meniere's disease

  2. Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo

  3. Vestibular neuronitis

  4. Labyrinthitis

Skull base and brainstem tumors can have otoneurological manifestations as well.
Early diagnosis and treatment of otitis media is crucial, and extracranial complications are: 

  1. Cholesteatoma, cholesterol granuloma` congenital and acquired 

  2. Facial nerve paralysis

  3. Labyrinthitis

  4. Mastoiditis with atypical forms

  5. Different types of hearing disorders
